the 2010 FIFA World Cup European zone has divided into 9 qualifying groups (8 groups with 6 teams & 1 group with 5 teams). each team in their qualifying group plays each other twice, home & away. the 9 European group winners qualify automatically to the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals.
the 8 best European group runners-up will square off against each other in a two legged play-off & the winner of these play-off matches will join the 9 European group winners to the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals. the draw for the European play-off matches will be made on 19 October 2009 after the completion of the qualifying group matches.

I am due to get married on the 3rd of July 2010, coinciding with the dates of 2 of the 4 Quarter Final games.
Foongwk1 – How will we know which teams fall into which group for the group matches stages of the WC?
Will the groups be evident once the draw has been made in October 2009 for the play-off of games?
